Quick facts (checked October 2026)
- Canada: Interactive Brokers Canada Inc., a CIRO member and CIPF member.
- US: Interactive Brokers LLC, regulated by the SEC and FINRA as a broker-dealer, and by the CFTC and NFA as a Futures Commission Merchant and Forex Dealer Member.
- It offers forex, and also futures — including gold futures on COMEX — plus stocks and ETFs.
Who it suits
People who want one account for investing and trading. Its platform is powerful but can feel complicated for a complete beginner.
Things to check yourself
- Commissions and any minimums for your account type.
- Which gold products are available to you (futures, ETFs, or spot metals depending on your country).
Our take
Excellent regulation and range. Practise on the paper-trading account first because the platform has a learning curve.
